Provost and Vice President (Academic Affairs)
One of Canada's oldest independent cultural institutions, NSCAD University (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) continues to be regarded as a principal centre for education and research in visual culture in North America. Operating from three campuses, including the new Port Campus on Halifax's picturesque waterfront, NSCAD University is where over 1000 students create some of the most cutting-edge images and objects being made anywhere on the continent. NSCAD University fosters close creative relationships among artists, crafts people, designers, academics, and the public, and takes on leadership responsibilities in the regional, national and international art communities. Graduates go on to join the ranks of the most interesting and successful artists of their generations.

As the Provost and Vice President (Academic Affairs), you will provide leadership to more than 135 faculty and instructors who offer undergraduate courses in Foundation studies, design, craft, fine arts, media arts, and historical and critical studies. Direct one of North America's most competitive graduate programs in the arts. Harness advances in curricular, programmatic development, and research initiatives. Reach out to external stakeholders and build relationships to ensure long-range security of programs and facilities. Solidify NSCAD's position as the academic leader in Canada's creative economy. Working closely with the President and your colleagues on the senior management team, you will be part of building on NSCAD's excellence.

With a passion to embrace and promote the visual arts combined with a proven record as an academic administrator, you have the required sound judgment and management skill to hit the ground running. Known as an innovator, a consensus builder, a pragmatist, an ambassador, and a courageous leader, you are ready to accept this challenge.

Eager to participate in enhancing critical and creative talent in the global marketplace? Let's have a conversation about how you can play a part of building on excellence at NSCAD.
